Ethically crafted swimsuits for everyday women

PA.NI is an Indian swimwear brand that wants to empower women, by catering to different body-types and opening conversations about body positivity. One of the reasons why we started PA.NI was to help women who felt like they had to compromise on either style or comfort when it came to buying swimsuits. We also believe that creating apparel should have a minimal impact on the environment and empower factory workers.

Sourced from Italy. Made in Sri Lanka.

We use high-grade Italian fabric made from recycled fishing nets. With more than 12.7 million tons of plastic waste found in our ocean every year, we believe it is our duty to help clean the oceans. Our manufacturers are selected based on their compliance with ethical and environmental standards. Through our materials and processes, we induce sustainability in our value chain and deliver a product that uses waste as a resource.

Designed to fit you perfectly

The perfect fit means something different to each one of us. This is why we’ve surveyed hundreds of women and incorporated their favorite features to design our swimsuits. After more than 5 months of product development and sampling, we’ve created swimsuits that fit you the way you want them to. For us, “body-positive” means catering to women as they are in real life, including enhancing their shopping experience with images that reflect the diversity in body types.

About our founder

Our founder Leila is an expat from Mauritius, who has been living in Mumbai for the past 3 years. As an island girl, she quickly discovered that so few mainstream brands made clothes to fit women of color - especially South Asian women. With her background in international development she realized that there was a gap in the swimwear market, and saw this as a chance to make a difference in the fashion industry and build a sustainable company.
